President, RemX Specialty Staffing

Under the RemX brand, Mr. Fred Herbert  heads up six highly successful business lines: RemX Financial Staffing, RemX IT Staffing, RemX OfficeStaff, RemX Scientific, RemX Engineering, and Project Solvers. His goal is to continue to expand the Speciality division to exceed $300 million. 

Fred is involved in the overall management of RemX. This includes financial and operational management, sales management, and executive recruitment. In addition, he oversees the marketing, technology, and acquisition activities as they relate to RemX.

His strategy for RemX is to grow nationwide beyond its existing 40 offices and 180 employees to ensure a dominant presence in all major markets. He believes it’s not just about dotting the map with locations but in building fortress-like presences in important markets.

Fred became a part of The Select Family of Staffing Companies through its 2006 purchase of RemedyTemp, which included RemX. He joined Remedy in 2002 with the mission to create, direct, and manage its entry into the specialty niche markets of financial, IT, and high-end administrative staffing.

After beginning his career at Texas Commerce Bank as a Credit Analyst, Fred rose to Assistant Vice President in the National Lending Group. He was then recruited by one of his clients to become Manager of Mergers and Acquisition at RPC Energy Services, a publicly traded company. He left RPC to join Norrell Corporation and took on a variety of positions, culminating with a promotion to Vice President and Managing Director of Norrell Financial Staffing, a business unit he started and expanded to over 20 offices and $30 million in revenues.

Fred was also employed by Olsten Corporation and grew Olsten Specialty Staffing as their Senior Vice President and Managing Director into one of the leading specialty staffing firms in the United States. In three years, Fred increased its revenues from $30 million to approximately $150 million.

An avid University of Texas sports fan, Fred follows the Longhorns’ every move throughout each season. He also lives and breathes the game of golf and either coaches or attends the many sports in which his children are involved, from tennis and soccer to football and basketball.

Mr. Herbert graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
